Designed and taught film courses at Cornell University and CCNY-Queens College

Served as Guest Lecturer at UCLA's Film Department and at Yale University; and

Lectured and given film seminars at various U. S. colleges and universities including a week-long seminar on documentary filmmaking in Toronto for the Canadian Film Board.
Has also been the subject of retrospectives at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City, theKennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and at the Cineclube Estacao in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

St.Clair Bourne began his career in American public television, (BLACK JOURNAL, SESAME STREET), buthis productions began to included educational films (the American Institute of Architecture, the CollegeEntrance Examination Board), network TV (NBC White Paper Special Report "AMERICA: BLACK AND WHITE" (Monte Carlo TV Film Festival's Documentary Award) and political films (THE BLACK AND THE GREEN inwhich African-American activists meet the IRA in Northern Ireland). Bourne's break with traditional television journalism started with LET THE CHURCH SAY AMEN! which chronicled the maiden voyage into the secular world by a young minister. Bourne made his entrance into theatrical feature films as the co-producer of THE LONG NIGHT which premiered at New York's Museum Of Modern Art's "New Directors, New Films" series and was released theatrically and on foreign television. He also co-produced REBOUND, a HBO dramatic film about the falland rise of Earl "The Goat" Manigault, a real-life playground basketball legend.
